This is what our founder wrote years back (Please see below). As a continuation of that article, here is our latest update.
Coming to an earlier question on how a TV product search at home could connect to unification that we had asked, it is somewhat connected to the below analysis. We will present that in detail soon.

With S. Korea relying on technological developments that demand significant supply of diverse raw materials, partnering with the nearest and obvious partner with supposedly close to "$6T" in mining reserves (these numbers could be easily altered with price fluctuations and by inflation) would also help on that front.
Most importantly, with global warming a major concern, it becomes even more essential to invest and partner efforts on resource planning and optimization.
Irrespective of anyone's leadership role, this partnership needs to and will happen to address global issues such as
energy demand management, global climate changes,
population and resources optimization and more.
This step will also help the Korean peninsula, and also the global business landscape in fostering healthy competition.
While taking this step will certainly address immediate challenges, increasing mining efforts could open up a can of worms connected to natural and man-made calamities coming from excessive mining. More on that front soon.
Clarification:
Though unification is the ultimate step, such drastic change might not be easy to achieve immediately. Instead, gradual progress in economic efforts would be a great way to start this collaboration, which started with a cordial Olympic exchange of camaraderie in the recently concluded Winter Olympics.
Note:
Unification of efforts would bring together a population of 75+ million from 25+ and 50+ millions respectively re-energizing the consumption based S. Korea, while uplifting N. Korea's raw material and supply chain global presence.
(Not exactly doubling, but tripling compared to N. Korean Population, and ~1.5 times that of S. Korean population)
